“Heartbreak Hotel” is a well-known artwork by Dutch rock legend and artist Herman Brood. The iconic silkscreen print, created in his signature style with bold colors, text, and his handwritten signature, reflects themes of loneliness and heartbreak, echoing the famous song by Elvis Presley and Brood’s own tragic end in 2001 at the Hilton Amsterdam. The print depicts an expressive scene in which “Colonel Parker” appears to hold Elvis Presley captive in a cart surrounded by barbed wire.
